Propolis is one of the most powerful natural allies for health, but like every valuable gift from nature, it works best when we know how to use it properly.
Bees do not spread it randomly throughout the hive. They carefully apply it where it is needed to seal cracks, protect the entrance, maintain a clean environment, and defend the colony. This is exactly how we should approach it as well.
How to properly dose propolis drops?
Propolis drops (tincture) are the most practical and widely used form available on the market. The dosage of propolis drops depends on the concentration of the extract (usually 10% to 30%) and the reason for use.
-
Preventively (for immunity): It is recommended to take 10 to 15 drops daily, preferably in the morning.
-
For acute conditions (colds, sore throat): The dosage can be increased to 15 to 20 drops, 2 to 3 times daily until symptoms improve.

How to drink and take propolis drops?
The drops are best applied ontoa teaspoon of honey, a sugar cube, or a piece of bread, and slowly dissolved in the mouth so that the active compounds can immediately begin working on the throat mucosa.
This is especially useful for throat irritation, hoarseness, or the feeling that “something is coming on”. Propolis then acts like a thin protective layer that stays on the mucous membrane and provides a feeling of protection.
You can also dilute them in half a glass of lukewarm water or tea.
Important warning: The liquid into which you add propolis must not be hot (not above 40°C), because high temperatures destroy its beneficial compounds, especially sensitive flavonoids. Allow the liquid to cool to a comfortable drinking temperature before adding the drops.
For external topical use, several drops can be applied directly to the skin using a cotton swab to treat minor wounds or scratches.
