Zumzz Wild Flower is a polyfloral honey that changes with every blooming season — a spring jar is lighter and more fragrant (clover, fruit blossoms), a summer one darker and more intense (sage, lavender, wild grasses). The industry 'solves' this by mixing thousands of tons of honey into a uniform product — we call that losing authenticity. Every different jar is proof it came straight from the meadow.
The opposite of spoiled — crystallisation is proof of authenticity. Wildflower honey has a natural tendency to crystallise faster due to a higher glucose content from the diverse floral nectar. Honey that never crystallises has almost always been heated or mixed with sugar syrup. Warm it slowly in a bowl of warm water (below 40°C) — in 20 minutes it's as liquid as on the first day.
Yes — and that's exactly what it's made for. Children eat it on bread instead of a spread with added sugar, adults put it in tea and smoothies, older people take it off the spoon in the morning. The only exception: children under 12 months must not consume any honey due to naturally present spores. For people with strong allergies to specific pollen types, we recommend consulting a doctor.
Natural honey technically does not expire — real honey found in the Egyptian pyramids was still edible. Stored properly in a dark and dry place, Zumzz Wild Flower stays excellent for years. The jar states a date up to which we guarantee top quality — but the honey certainly lasts even longer. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight.
